Whatever character you write, the probability that it will be followed directly by a vowel or space is 50 percent.
For this reason, SpeedScript allows you to write any vowel or a space directly from any character, without having to search for the next key and reposition your pen.

Since vowels and spaces are written with short strokes:

• You don’t have to move your eyes to find a new key
  
• You don’t have to move the pen to a new key

Why is SpeedScript smart even more efficient?

SpeedScript smart features an optimized key layout that enables much faster text input. The layout is based on the findings of linguistic research, and is very compact because there are only 19 yellow consonant keys and one key for vowels. The system doesn’t need separate yellow keys for vowels and spaces:

• It’s easier to find your way around the keypad and less tiring on the eyes
• Overall you don’t have to move the pen around so much
• The system makes optimum use of space
• You can keep your hand still – you only have to move your fingers
• Characters that are regularly used in combination are placed close together in the yellow key area

The fact that users are already familiar with touching keys for consonants makes SpeedScript more usable and quicker to learn.
